Annals of Sand is a city builder for the phone, set in the Copper Age. One turn is one season, and the age runs seventeen hundred years, from 5010 to 3300 BCE. You post your hands on the plots of a river town: fields, yards, a smithy, a shrine. Each season the court brings a matter that wants your word, and a god may stir and ask to be kept. You are one line whose memory wakes in some of the rulers who carry the blood. Those write in the book when they die; the others rule dark reigns. Learn the way from stone to copper in fourteen steps. Scouts draw a map of twenty-one by twenty-one places, with nine peoples on it. The game opens on the world as it was in 5000 BCE, with twenty-eight cradles marked. Two are open now; the rest come one at a time.
